Through a Canon 1000D
alokshenoy.net started off as a not so narcissistic website called ‘Ek Cutting Chai’, which had started off in early 2005 as blog by a biker, who had a 2MP cellphone camera, and realized that he probably had a flair for taking decent photographs. Thus, an amateur photographer awakened within me. During the few thousand km’s I clocked on a Bajaj Pulsar 180 DTS-i, I took photographs with anything ranging from a cell phone camera, to a 10MP digicam borrowed from a friend. It was only in late 2008 that I managed to acquire a DSLR – a Canon 1000D with two lenses, 18-55mm and 55-250mm telezoom.
2011 February, my better half, Padmashri Suresh gifted me a Canon EF 50mm prime, f/1.8. It was her attempt of kick starting the photographer in me.
This site was blocked by Google recently due to installation of various malware by Chinese hackers. Why they would target such a low ranked website is beyond me, but it forced me to rebuild this site from ground up. Hopefully, this will be inspiration enough to start working on my photography again!
Mostly a combination of photographs, rants, opinions, and a little bit of what I do in the lab – which is Chemistry! I’m not a regular poster, but I try to keep up. It’ll usually start with epic levels of frustration about how crappy my photography is, followed by a new found love for my 50mm prime, and then a little bit of photographing. That will be followed by a long period of laziness, following which,I process all the photographs, upload them, and then the cycle continues!
Right now, I’m in one of those, photoshop stuff / my photography sucks phases
